Hiatus

As of now, 11/3/2022, LOTF is officially on hiatus.

Thank you for visiting this page, for caring, and for clicking here to figure out what’s up. We are, after much deliberation, officially on hiatus.

Truthfully, producing content has been difficult for some time and it’s all for happy life stuff reasons. Lisa and I both have full-time jobs that require our brains and sometimes, extra hours. Lisa has been working on a nonfiction book proposal and mystic creative project (Portals & Prisms), and I’ve been running my editing business (mackenziekeiraedits) at night after my house has gone to sleep.

This decision has been difficult for us because we have literally given lectures on time management. You can do anything in 10-30 minutes a day. You don’t have to only have a day job. You can do all the things if your mind and heart are in the right place. This is true, and we stand by that, but the other side of the coin, is there are only so many hours in the day and running our podcast is a full-time job. We have had to, for sanity’s sake, take a step back.

So, what will the next few months look like? Well, we have a few episodes to still toss out into the wind and I was smack in the middle of reviewing stories for the Horror Space call. These are two things that will still happen soon (the podcast episodes are scheduled & we are reaching out to accepted authors with contracts very soon!). You will see a couple of short stories still come out on our website, but otherwise, we are closing up shop for the season.

That does beg the questions: are you coming back? And what will it look like?

To be honest? We aren’t sure what it will look like when we come back. We have lots of ideas and things we’d like to try. And we are very proud of what we have built. As new moms, new writers, and recent MFA graduates, we created a two-time award-winning podcast. It’s not something we want to walk away from. We want to support authors. We want to review books. We have enjoyed promoting Summer Scares, Stoker Con, and our fellow podcasters.

It’s just time for an (official) break.

So, after some time to re-group, we hope to come back with some fresh ideas, *possibly* some new projects, and, at the very least, renewed energy.

Thank you for your support, understanding, and love.

Always, always stay dark & stormy.

Mackenzie and Lisa
